International Women’s Day 2021: “From challenge comes change, so let’s all choose to challenge.”

COS General news

At COS we are committed to celebrating the achievements of all our colleagues, but today, on International Women’s Day 2021, we choose to applaud the achievements of the women in our team, women who are at the forefront of research, women who choose to push boundaries, ask questions and seek solutions every single day.

According to UIS data, less than 30% of the world’s researchers are women and less than a third of female students choose to study higher education courses in subjects like mathematics, science, and engineering. Furthermore, women working in this field often publish less and receive less pay.

Not at COS. Our company is led by strong women, with a diverse management that is not afraid to call out bias and inequality, with a leadership team that strives to create an inclusive environment in which all colleagues are valued, recognized, and supported so that they can achieve their true potential.

Stacie Hudgens is COS’s Founder and Strategic Lead:

“It’s important today to celebrate the women in our team and the strides we have made to foster an inclusive workplace with the Diversity and Inclusive Panel. However, it is also important to recognize the amount of work needed to ensure that people from all backgrounds have equal opportunity. So, we #ChooseToChallenge. We choose help create an inclusive world and take responsibility for our part in this. As we reflect on #IWD2021, we raise our hands in support of the women working in our field and we commit to continue to make a positive difference.”
