We are looking for an experienced research scientist to join our growing global team.

Location: Tucson, AZ, Chicago IL, Folkestone UK

Remote working is available.

This exciting role offers the opportunity to work locally and globally on patient-centered research studies across multiple therapeutic areas. Measures include patient-, clinician, and observer-reported outcomes to understand epidemiologic, health-related quality of life, and symptomology impact of disease on patients.

Research Scientist
Psychometrics, Quantitative Science


Duties

As part of the COS Quantitative Science team, the Psychometrician will work on internal and external client analytics, reporting and strategy with a specific focus in psychometrics as part of the COS quantitative science team. This individual will be directly involved in the implementation of quantitative outcomes research (clinical outcomes assessment) studies to better understand and quantify humanistic clinical benefit within the context of observational or clinical studies.

Skills:

  • Familiarity with the development and psychometric validation of new measures
  • Ability to apply knowledge of classical and modern test theory (item and score level) applications
  • Knowledge of data management, analysis, and reporting strategies
    • Experience developing and implementing psychometric and statistical analytic plans
    • Experience conducting analyses to develop and execute tables, listings, and figures required to execute the statistical and psychometric analysis plan (for publication or regulatory submission)
    • Experience in the development of study deliverables including the explanation of methodology and results of analyses
  • Desire to work on a small team in a fast-paced, client focused environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong desire to be client facing
  • Passion for conducting research and the organizational skills to support that passion
  • Ability to understand and respond to multiple internal and external customer demands
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent process and project management skills required

Education:

  • A Master’s degree, Ph.D. preferred, in biostatistics, epidemiology, psychology, educational psychology, biostatistics, public health, outcomes research, sociology, statistics or related areas
  • A minimum of 3 years conducting quantitative research efforts
  • A minimum of 5 years in conducting and/or leading quantitative research efforts
  • Experience with SAS or related statistical or psychometric software
