Tara is Chief Science Officer and Strategic Lead at Clinical Outcomes Solutions with over 20 years of pharmaceutical industry, academic and consulting experience and has a specialism in COA development. She is often sought out to provide industry perspective on COAs for regulatory and scientific meetings.

Tara has more than 20 years of experience in the development and implementation of COAs for use in clinical research. Her particular areas of interest and expertise are in qualitative research, ePRO/BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) and application of PRO measures in comparative effectiveness research by incorporation into electronic medical records and registries. She has worked across numerous therapeutic areas and has extensive expertise in Sexual Health, Women’s Health, Pain, Respiratory and Alzheimer’s disease.
She worked at Pfizer for 16 years in Outcomes Research, her final assignment was to set-up and lead the PRO Center of Excellence during which time she won a Great Manager award. Tara has much experience in negotiating PRO labelling at both FDA and EMA. She was an active member of the Critical Path Institutes PRO Consortium. Tara has also previously worked in academia teaching undergraduate and postgraduate psychology.
She has published more than 60 peer reviewed articles and is co-author of the newly published book: Cappelleri et al (2014) Patient Reported Outcomes: Measurement, Implementation and Interpretation, CRC Press. Tara is a Chartered Psychologist and holds a Doctorate in Health Psychology from the University of Huddersfield, UK.
